Our mission at the Girl Scouts of Northern California (GSNorCal) is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place for ALL people. To do this, we provide inclusive and engaging experiences for girls and youth who participate in Girl Scout troops, programs, and their adult allies. As volunteers, you play an important role in bringing this mission to life! This is why we created GSNorCal’s Volunteer Policy for Building Equitable Community for All

Our Volunteer Policy is meant to help you understand what is expected of you in your role and how to be accountable for doing your part. The main sections of this policy include Training and Learning Opportunities for Volunteers, Girl Scout Community Values, Taking Charge of Physical and Emotional Safety, and Holding Ourselves Accountable. Within each section you will find many relevant, detailed resources, which we hope you will use this as your starting point to prepare yourself and the other adults in Girl Scouts to deliver our mission of inclusive and engaging experiences to our diverse communities of girls and youth!

By following this Volunteer Policy together, we are taking charge of the physical and emotional safety of our girls while making the world a better place for all people. Thank you for your commitment to this work!
