MY27 Service Unit Incentive: Road to the Podium

Welcome to this year’s GSNorCal Service Unit Incentive! This year’s service unit incentive is built around our council-wide theme: One Council. One Mission. The “Road to the Podium” challenge celebrates the important role service units play in that mission every single day.

Everything we do in Girl Scouts is connected—recruitment, renewals, entrepreneurship, troop support, volunteer engagement, programming, and community-building. The Road to the Podium challenge recognizes the critical role service units play in making strong experiences possible for girls and volunteers throughout Northern California.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we find our service unit’s annual youth and adult membership goals? Connect with your local staff support member to find out your goal numbers for the year.

Where can we find our current membership numbers? Service unit team members with Looker.com access can run the SU Roster: Membership Analysis report at anytime to get an overview of current membership numbers, including renewed and new youth and adults.

What is a Short & Snappy and where can we find them? They are 15-30 minute long adult learning activities that can be incorporated into a service unit meeting or at an adult/volunteer event. Each Short & Snappy has a specific learning objective and includes an introduction, supply list, resources, and presenter notes. They will be included in the new SU guide, however if you would like to see what will be available connect with your local support staff member.

Which schools are our service unit’s focus schools? Connect with your local staff member at the SU’s annual planning meeting or in a separate conversation, to determine which schools will be the SU’s focus, or priority, schools for new member recruitment.

What if someone holds multiple roles, will we still get the points? Of course! However it is highly encouraged that committee roles are held by different individuals, to help spread the responsibilities.

How do we know which troops have already turned in their Troop Finance Report (TFR)? Your VSM or MEM can provide you with a list of troops.

Additional questions? Please contact your local staff member.
