Service Unit Delegate Voter Guide – 2026

2026 Election

The 2026 service unit delegate election will run January 5 – 20, 2026. Adult and youth members age 14 and older are eligible to elect delegates for their service unit.

Service unit delegates (age 14 and older by the end of elections in January) serve a one-year term as a key communication link between the GSNorCal Board of Directors and our youth and adult members. As a representative for their service unit and a voting member at GSNorCal’s Annual Meeting, delegates share feedback that they gathered from their service unit members about key topics and council strategy, provide input on our council’s strategy, vote on bylaws amendments, discuss national proposals, and elect the GSNorCal Board of Directors.

The GSNorCal Bylaws explain the formula for determining how many delegates each service unit is entitled to elect and how to divide the delegate positions between youth and adult members.

Only service units with more nominees than available delegate roles (i.e., a contested race) will need to vote. Service units with uncontested races do not require a vote and nominees are automatically considered elected.

The 2026 delegates for service units with uncontested races are listed in the service unit delegate roster. The results of the 2026 election will be added to the roster by February 2026.

Asia Brunell

Going to Summit really opened my eyes to all of the ways that I can help our whole community of Girl Scouts. I have been a registered Girl Scout for the majority of my life, and I now lead a troop. I work at a local middle school and am very involved with our community. I want to see our connections grow from our county to the northern portion of the state. We are a very diverse state with many opportunities for our young girls; these are only accessible with the support from our leaders. I hope to help play a role in connecting all of Northern California’s young Girl Scouts.

Kassity McGaughey

I’m looking to expand my SU roles and duties. Currently I’m the assistant camp director for Camp Tall Trees, the volunteer coordinator for Camp Tall Trees, SU liaison for 127&125, and troop leader for my 2nd troop, 90019. My first troop 10627 have all graduated.

Naomi R. C.

I would be an effective service unit delegate for Girl Scouts of Northern California because I have been an active girl scout for 10 years and have completed training such as CPR and First aid training through Red-Cross. I am a strong willed and determined 15 year old girl who is excited for grand opportunities within a girl scout community. I am part of troop 70181 which has been a part of many volunteer activities as well as hosting local events and helping out the community. I am a good leader and have experience in CIT work with Camp Tall Trees. I am a hardworking student and have been playing tennis throughout my high school time. I have been a babysitter for many years and have many satisfied occupants. I am in the process of trying to apply to jobs around my community to save money for college and future learning opportunities. I hope you will consider me for this amazing position.

Kaya S.

I believe I would be an effective service unit delegate due to my 10 year commitment through troops 90033 and 70181. Through out my time I have honed my leadership skills and most of my public speaking skills. As a troop 707181 we have participated in multiple flag ceremonies one in particular being on Memorial Day commemoration those lost at sea. Overall our troop and myself have dedicate countless hours towards the community. Moreover this would be a great learning opportunity for me.

Siya D.

I believe that I would be an effective service unit delegate because I am committed to representing my troop with responsibility and leadership. I have been a Girl Scout for three years, and this experience has shown me how strongly Girl Scouts can impact the community. Through my Silver Award project, I learned how to lead and take action. I helped raise awareness about the harmful effects of climate change by running a booth at the 2025 Earth Day Festival. I created a matching card game to teach young children about pollution, passed out seed packets, and displayed a trifold poster explaining how people can help reduce climate change. As a part of this project, I also built a website that teaches visitors about the effects of climate change and how to prevent it. Later that year, I led a troop of Brownies through a Journey focused on improving their community and completing a Take-Action Project. I also completed C3 Training to help lead scouts during camps. Outside of Girl Scouts, I am a member of the Best Buddies Club, where I volunteer daily to support students with special needs. I have played basketball for five years in the Fremont Youth Ball Club and for two years on my school team. Additionally, I volunteered around seventy hours during the summer serving meals at my temple and helping teach others about my religion. I would be honored to represent my service unit and continue helping strengthen the Girl Scout community.

Siya K.

I will be an effective Service Unit Delegate for Girl Scouts of Northern California as I have many qualifications that will aid in my ability to lead if reelected for this position. As the Service Unit Delegate for 2025, I found attending the annual GSNorCal meeting to be a valuable experience and it certainly altered my perspective on Girl Scouting. I would love to have the opportunity to attend in the upcoming year to represent my service unit on a larger scale. I am actively involved with Girl Scouts and participate in numerous activities, including service events and product sales. I recently completed my Silver Award from which I gained meaningful skills like communication, financial responsibility, and time management. From this experience, I learned to engage with others and be an effective public speaker. These experiences have exposed me to how the Service Unit meetings function and how processes within Girl Scouts are managed.

Furthermore, as the president and founder of a youth-led nonprofit, I also have experience translating project strategy into execution. I have learned how to uphold consistency in initiatives and messaging amongst departments, which I know will be particularly helpful in relaying concerns from troops to the annual meeting.

Girl Scouts means a lot to me because it has given me so many opportunities as a young adult emerging into society. This position would be a great opportunity for me to give back to Girl Scouts for everything it has given me.

Nikita N.

I, Nikita N., would serve as an effective Service Unit Delegate for Girl Scouts of Northern California because of my commitment to community leadership and supporting younger girls. Throughout my nine years in Girl Scouts, I have strengthened my leadership and communication skills by earning my Silver Award, working toward my Gold Award, and serving as a Day Camp counselor for two years. These roles required me to listen to diverse perspectives, collaborate with teams, and make thoughtful decisions — all skills that directly apply to representing my service unit at the council level.

Outside of Girl Scouts, I serve as the software captain of an FTC robotics team and participate in STEM competitions such as hackathons and engineering challenges. In these roles, I frequently evaluate solutions, make strategic decisions, and advocate for fairness within my team. Experiencing gender disparities firsthand has also taught me the importance of ensuring every voice is heard and represented. These experiences have strengthened my ability to analyze issues, contribute meaningfully to discussions, and bring forward underrepresented perspectives.

My combined experiences in Girl Scouts and STEM have shown me how essential it is for girls to feel represented in decisions that impact them. Whether it’s Daisies and Brownies at Day Camp or girls entering STEM fields, I’ve seen the confidence that grows when their ideas are valued. As a Service Unit Delegate, I would ensure all girls’ perspectives are brought forward and that our service unit contributes clearly and thoughtfully to council discussions, elections, and proposals.

309 – Crossroads

Adult Nominees | No Vote Required

Two delegate positions will remain unfilled because there were no adult nominations.

Youth Nominees | Vote for One

Sarah G.

My name is Sarah G. and I am a 10th grade Senior Girl Scout. I would be honored to serve as a delegate for the Crossroads Service Unit and be the communication link with the GSNorCal Board of Directors. I would like the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and have the chance to take on more leadership.

I have been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and have developed my leadership skills over the years. Girl Scouts has been a big part of my life and I have learned many things such as working with a team, problem solving, mentoring younger Girl Scouts, communication, and giving back to my community.

I have already earned my Bronze and Silver Awards, and am starting to work on my Gold Award. I enjoy volunteering and have earned my Silver Presidential Service Award in 2024. I have worked on our Service Unit’s Spring Camporee and Adopt-A Family events for the past four years. I enjoy helping younger Girl Scouts at Cookie Rallies and Welcome Back to Girl Scouts events.

I stand for what I believe in and I will work hard to be an effective Service Unit Delegate. I am confident that my leadership skills, collaborative decision-making, and commitment to Girl Scouts will help me be successful in this role.

Amishi J.

I, Amishi J., would be an excellent service unit delegate. Firstly, I have been a member of GS NorCal for over five years, proving my commitment to my troop and the organization itself. I have completed and successfully earned both my bronze and silver award, and I am on the path to completing my gold award. I am a Senior and have lead multiple activities during our camping trips such as planning a scavenger hunt for younger Girl Scouts or creating a mock olympic game. I have earned multiple journey’s throughout my time as a Girl Scout, and have over 40 badges. I also am in the TTO East Bay committee and have learned so much from it. Apart from these Girl Scout related achievements and activities, I also have great leadership and public speaking skills. I have done public speaking for two years and debate for three, with Congress being a new style of debate I have been learning. My love for speaking would make me a great delegate. I would be so appreciative if I could be the service unit delegate, and I thank you for reading my statement.

Simran S.

I will be an effective delegate for Girl Scouts of Northern California because I bring strong leadership experience, clear communication skills, and a deep commitment to supporting Girls Scouts. For the past five years, I have helped run camps and events in the service unit, and for the past two years I have been a core organizer. Through these camps, I’ve learned planning, budgeting, scheduling, public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills. I’ve also presented these camps to the service unit board, which has helped me feel more confident collaborating with adults as well as representing a youth perspective. In addition, I work as a lifeguard, which requires focus, responsibility, and quick decision-making. This job has strengthened my ability to stay calm under pressure and always prioritize safety. Outside of Girl Scouts, I serve as a student leader in my school’s marching band, where I mentor a group of ten students (many of whom started from scratch). This has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Overall, these experiences have prepared me to represent my peers thoughtfully, listen to different viewpoints, and give meaningful input during discussions and decisions.

Christina Farr

Nominated by Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor: Ever since the day I met Christina to me, she embodies Girl Scouts. She grew up a Girl Scout. Her mother was her leader. She has four wonderful girls that she has gone through Girl Scouts, with she took me under her wing and is training me showing me the ropes, the ins and outs in every aspect, she has taught me so many different things and has exposed me to so many wonderful things that this world has to offer that I would’ve never gone and ventured out to do on my own. She is taking two of my girls and shown them amazing things and taught them to be stronger more independent women. She is always there to help to walk people through things, to physically show them. She takes time out of her busy schedule with her family to do a lot of things that she doesn’t have to do but she wants to be a Girl Scout to everyone. Her whole family is so involved with Girl Scouts they do so many different Girl Scout camps. Their girls are still campers. They’re also elves. And yet she is never tired or frustrated when it comes to planning camping trips for our troops. I’ve even been voluntold to do many things for our service unit, our troop, but that’s because she sees something in me that I don’t see and she pushes me just that much harder to achieve that. I think having a Christina on our side definitely makes this world a better place.

Jaime La Rue

I would be delighted to offer my assistance in any capacity, with the aim of ensuring that the voices of the scouts are given due consideration.

Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor

Elizabeth has been a strong voice in the SU and would be a reliable person to represent our SU and share information with our members

Anjali G.

Hi, I am Anjali G. and I am applying to be a Service Unit Delegate for the Las Trampas Service Unit. I am a Sophomore in high school and have been a Girl Scout since 2nd grade. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends, playing tennis and creating art! Other activities I participate in are that I am an active member of Interact clubs, an organization that works with Rotary International. This year, I was selected for the leadership team of Interact 5160 District Council. I assist in planning activities for all of the Interact clubs in Northern California. I have also been involved with the local San Ramon Valley Interact club, the Teen Advisory Board at the Danville library, and Youth Homes, an organization that serves young people affected by trauma. I was a member of the Student Senate at my middle school representing students for the school district. With my previous and current leadership activities, I am interested in this position of Service Unit Delegate to work with the Service Unit and for the opportunity to expand my leadership experience within Girl Scouts.

Gracianna (Gracie) G.

I am a strong candidate for the Service Unit Delegate position, as I have held many leadership roles and understand how to communicate and guide others effectively for a positive outcome. For starters, I work part-time as a youth gymnastics coach, where I help young girls hone in on their capabilities and improve not only in sport but also in character, with new traits of determination and confidence. I also helped create our service unit’s Older Girl’s Experience troop, which allows scouts to have a group of peers where they can more freely express their ideas and learn new skills through events we collaborate on to bring to fruition. My troop and I have also planned and led many events in our service unit, helping to foster a larger sense of community throughout our scouts. I apply my leadership skills throughout every part of my life, as I am also an officer of my school’s Key Club, which focuses on community service events. Our Key Club partners with many philanthropic organizations, such as the Pediatric Trauma Program and the Yes Initiative, to which we have helped raise over 35,000 dollars in our club district just this year. As an officer I communicate with members and other officers, plan events, and find new ways to improve our club’s impact in the community. Overall my diverse experiences in leadership and strong communication skills would make for an effective Service Unit Delegate.

I’ve been active in Girl Scouting since kindergarten and am eager to take on a leadership role during my high school years. Last year, I earned my Silver Award by leading fire safety presentations and installing a new safety sign at Moraga Rancho Laguna Park. I’m now planning my Gold Award project as a high school Girl Scout.

I enjoy volunteering and serve on the Orinda Teen Advisory Council, organizing community events. As a service unit delegate, I will work to ensure all voices are heard and our programs stay inclusive. My dedication to empowering girls and upholding Girl Scout values makes me well-suited for this position.

Kaitlyn Y.

My name is Kaitlyn Y., and I am an 11th grader who has been a proud Girl Scout for over 12 years. As a hard-working, empathetic, and collaborative individual, I have taken on leadership roles such as being a Counselor-In-Training (CIT/Elf) at Diablo and Moraga Day Camps, where I worked with diverse teams to create inclusive and impactful programs. I am also pursuing my Gold Award by providing comfort to children with retinoblastoma at UCSF, a project that reflects my ability to think strategically and lead with compassion. Lastly, I was the Service Unit delegate for my SU 327 for the past year, attending the GSNorCal Annual Meeting in the spring.

In addition to my local contributions, I am passionate about representing the diverse voices of GSNorCal members. I am committed to ensuring that the Girl Scout Movement continues to empower girls through innovative programming and inclusive policies. With a deep appreciation for the organization’s mission and a thoughtful approach to weighing different perspectives, I am prepared to serve as a Service Unit delegate. I am excited about the opportunity to help shape the future of the movement and ensure it continues to inspire and uplift girls everywhere.

Akshatha M.

I have been in Girl Scouts for five years and have completed both my Silver and Bronze Awards, which allowed me to make a meaningful impact on my community and helped me gain a valuable skill of communicating with authorities. This now helps me effectively share member feedback with the GSNorCal Board of Directors, advise on council strategy, and review proposals and bylaw changes to support our Girl Scout community. In addition to this, I have led several journeys and awards in my troop, which strengthened my public speaking and helped me learn how to talk with purpose. Outside of Girl Scouts, I have faced challenges such as group members not contributing during school projects. Through quick thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, I was able to divide the work equally and make sure our group succeeded. I also balance school, Girl Scouts, and dance, while still making time for friends and family, thanks to my strong sense of responsibility and my habit of completing work on time instead of procrastinating. These skills will support me in this leadership role, as I can communicate effectively, act responsibly, problem-solve, and work hard, because my goal is for everyone to enjoy it as much as I do.

Vanna S.

8 years of scouting, 8 cookie seasons, 2 years of top troop seller, 4 years of hard work in bronze and silver awards, 12+ camping trips, and 100’s of new scouting friends and found families later, I found my true passion. Girl Scouting.

4 years on the debate team, 6 years in band, 7 years in theater arts, and 8 years in Girl Scouts. Honing my skills, developing my passions, I keep coming back to scouting.

What have I learned? I’ve learned leadership through being a camp station leader. I’ve learned entrepreneurship through cookie sales. I’ve learned collaboration through my bronze and silver awards. I’ve learned communication through the speeches I’ve given. I’ve learned humility through the mistakes I’ve made. I’ve learned strength from each trek at camp. I’ve learned about friendship through my troop. I’ve learned to live by the Girl Scout Law through Girl Scouts.

My commitment to Girl Scouts and my passion for progress make me the best candidate for our service unit delegate. I have the current viewpoint, communication, and problem-solving skills to bring the strongest voice to the table. As your delegate, I will be an energetic, reliable, and relevant actor in the affairs of Girl Scouts.

I am dedicated to being diligent and committed to the correct representation of our volunteers and my peers. Advocating for council policies that champion innovation and keep programming relevant to today’s girls.

Progress is passion, and I’m both.

Mridhula S. K.

I believe I would be an effective service unit delegate because of my long-term commitment to Girl Scouts and the strengths I’ve built inside and outside the program. I have been a Girl Scout since first grade and earned my Silver Award, which was the project I invested most deeply in and where I learned to collaborate, problem-solve, and follow through on meaningful work. While I haven’t held formal leadership roles, I naturally lead from behind the scenes. I’m highly organized, thoughtful, and reliable, and I communicate thoroughly and clearly when I’m responsible for something. I’m also skilled at mediating conflicts and considering all perspectives before presenting information or making decisions.

Outside of Girl Scouts, I’ve dedicated years to dance and percussion, earning opportunities such as membership in All Northern for two years and performing at a high level in both my dance company and school percussion program. I stay involved in activities like drumline, HOSA, TedX, and community service traditions such as holiday clothing drives.

I want to be a delegate because I’m working toward becoming the kind of leader younger me looked up to; someone who listens, learns, and represents others with care. Even though public speaking and stepping forward can be intimidating, I’m motivated to grow, advocate for my community, and contribute to the service unit in a meaningful way by understanding and uplifting a wide range of voices. I know I would bring commitment, empathy, and a strong work ethic to this role.

Hello! My name is Kaylin, and I’m excited to present my candidacy for Service Unit Delegate. Over the years, I’ve built strong leadership skills that allow me to inspire, advocate for, and understand those around me. I previously served as the elected secretary of Language Ambassadors, a club promoting cultural diversity. In this role, I led meetings, maintained records, tracked service hours, and helped organize a school-wide cultural awareness event. I continued developing my leadership through Key Club, an international, student-led organization providing members with opportunities for service, building character and developing leadership. serving as a secretary on a service committee where I ensured members were recognized for their contributions. I have completed over 74 service hours, giving back to my community and encouraging others to do the same. Additionally, I coached middle school track through the Women’s Coaching Alliance, which strengthened my communication and collaboration skills. Furthermore I’ve spent two consecutive years in a Leadership in Training program at my local recreation center, gaining hands-on experience in activity coordination and problem-solving. Lastly, for the past 10 years, I have been an active Girl Scout, upholding the Girl Scout Law and consistently participating in troop activities and community service. Including my active role as Service Unit Delegate for Crystal Springs last year and I hope to continue proudly representing my community and troops. These experiences have prepared me to confidently and responsibly take on the role of Service Unit Delegate. I am ready to contribute, lead, and represent with dedication.

Anabelle T.

This year, I am embarking on my tenth year in Girl Scouts. Having completed my Bronze and Silver Awards, I have been very involved in my community and beyond. I am very passionate about helping out others, whether it be through communication, representation, or mental wellness. In our world today, having good mental health is extremely important. That is why I chose to research and put on a workshop with my Silver Award team introducing local students to helpful strategies for positive thinking and gaining their insight on what they are thinking. By doing this, I have been better able to understand others, helping to make me a more effective leader. Additionally, volunteering over the past few years has also helped me to get in touch with different parts of my community, sensing where others may need assistance. I have also been active in school communities, helping out on my school’s peer council and leadership committees, which have allowed me to gain many very important skills. Outside of Girl Scouts, I am on my high school’s pom team, been part of softball and competitive dance teams, and performed theater. With my Mom and Dad’s support, I have been involved in Girl Scouts for nearly my entire life. Through the valuable skills I have gained, I am ready to make a difference for our service unit throughout the next year!

Anvita V.

My name is Anvita V. I would be an effective Service Unit Delegate because I bring strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to supporting Girl Scouts at every level. I work well with people, stay organized, and listen carefully to other people’s perspectives. I have been actively involved in Girl Scouts for 8 years! I completed my Silver Award and am currently planning to earn my Gold Award. Earning my silver award has taught me how to lead projects, manage time, and stay focused on long-term goals. I have also helped younger troops by assisting them at their meetings. Working with younger Girl Scouts has strengthened my patience, leadership, and ability to guide others while supporting a safe and fun environment. As a delegate, I will represent our Service Unit responsibly by attending meetings, sharing updates, and bring feedback from troops to the council. I care about making sure every girl’s experience is valued and that decisions reflect what our community needs. Thank you for reading my nomination. I’m ready to represent my Service Unit and support Girl Scouts in a meaningful way.

Girl Scouts quickly became more than an activity for me. It became my community. When I joined, I was excited but unsure of myself, especially stepping into large, unfamiliar spaces. Through Teen Take Over, Lead the Way, and Mom n Me Camp, I found a place where girls lift each other up and where trying, even imperfectly, is always encouraged. Being surrounded by that kind of support helped me grow more confident in sharing my ideas and showing up for others.

Working on council wide events gave me a deeper appreciation for how Girl Scouts functions as a community. As a committee head for Teen Take Over and Lead the Way, I helped plan events, support teams during programs, and talk with girls afterward about what they enjoyed and what could be better. I saw how important it is that girls feel listened to not just during events but in how programs are shaped overall. That is why I want to serve as a Service Unit Delegate to carry those voices forward and make sure girls’ experiences are reflected in council decisions.

Girl Scouts has given me a strong sense of responsibility to my community. I want to bring the same thoughtfulness, empathy, and commitment I have learned here to representing my service unit, because when girls feel heard and valued, the entire council grows stronger.

Avani T.

I will be an effective Service Unit Delegate because my Girl Scout experience has strengthened my skills in service, communication, and representation, all of which are vital to this role.

For my Silver Award, I coordinated a blanket-making project that supported over 100 families in Maui affected by the 2023 wildfires. For my Gold Award, I am launching an annual STEM conference, “InnovateHER,” along with a sustainable planning guide that will support girls for years to come. Additionally, as a member of the Youth Voices Task Group, I practice responsibilities similar to a delegate by collaborating with the Youth Board Participants to publicize older Girl Scout opportunities, gather feedback, and ensure girls’ perspectives are reflected in program decisions. These Girl Scouts experiences have collectively strengthened my ability to listen to community needs, gather meaningful input, organize partners, and represent a wide range of youth voices, which are all skills essential for contributing to council strategy and serving effectively at the Annual Meeting.

Beyond Girl Scouts, I lead outreach for STEMMABLE as the VP of Marketing where I helped expand our impact to 3,300+ underprivileged students in the Bay Area, leading to recognition from the San Jose City Council for advancing equitable STEM education. I was also my school’s nominee (1 out of 1,600) for the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes humanitarian service and academic excellence.

I care deeply about ensuring girls’ voices are heard and would be grateful to represent my service unit with responsibility and empathy.

During my eight years of being a Girl Scout, I’ve learned so much and met so many great people. From learning basic camping skills as a brownie to learning to work with a team as a cadette to honing my public speaking skills as a senior, the knowledge I’ve gained over the years stays with me in everything I do. Last year, I had the privilege of serving as our service unit’s youth delegate and attending the annual conference. Sharing opinions with fellow delegates and hearing the leaders speak gave me so much insight as to what was happening in the organization on a larger scale. I’d love to take my knowledge from my years of Girl Scouting and my experience as a delegate last year, and represent our service unit as a delegate again. Being a Girl Scout has always reminded me to give back to my community and through opportunities like my silver award, I’ve learned about the value of leadership and hard work. Aside from being a Girl Scout, I love to contribute to my community in other ways. I’m an officer of Cupertino SAPP (Students Against Period Poverty), which is an organization raising awareness about period poverty. I also work at a local center tutoring children and this has taught me about responsibility, commitment, and working with others. Overall, I believe my enthusiasm to work with my community, my delegate experience, and my years of scouting have prepared me to serve as a youth delegate.

Kushi H.

As a prior girl scout council delegate, and a girl scout of 10 years, representing the voices of scouts and troop memebers is incredibly important to me, as it’s an unparalleld tool in shaping the future of the organization. My leadership roles in GS committees such as my role as the subcomittee lead for the Lead the Way Conference helped me grow more aware of internal proccesses of everything from planning to budgeting with GS Norcal. I also served as a youth member on the adult committee for organizing the Mom n Me camp which allowed me to gain insight towards how GS Norcal programs run, and how to provide constructive and productive feedback from girls on the youth planning commitee to the adult committee. My passion and involvement in Girl Scouting ranges from participating in GS Norcal media events like a recent video I filmed with Mary-Jane Strom to an article I wrote for the Yale Daily News about the future of the GS Norcal organization. What all of these experiences have taught me is how to be an efficient represntative, strong communicator, and a passionate member of the girl scout community. Ultimately, I would be honored to serve as the Cupertino Council delegate if provided the opportunity.

Netra K.

The Girl Scout community is the embodiment of inclusion, togetherness, and empowerment. I grew up shy and afraid to step out of my comfort zone; when I found myself surrounded by uplifting Girl Scouts, I learned to take risks, even if it meant imperfection. Having been a Girl Scout for almost a decade, I have gained skills of leadership, confidence, and courage, all through the incredible organization.

As a service unit delegate for the Girl Scouts of Northern California, I will ensure that the skills I have developed are shown through my vote in the council. I will strive to empower younger girls who may face the same doubts I once did, to help them figure out their passions and become the best versions of themselves they can be.

One way I have explored leadership and courage is through the Silver Award, which helped me receive the honor of the PVSA Gold Award for volunteering service. I am very passionate about environmental issues, so I educated passersby at a local farmers market, handing out pamphlets and reusable items to encourage sustainability. Additionally, through my school’s Girls Who Code chapter, in which I am an officer of the leadership team, I plan team meetings, handle communications with guest speakers, and teach other girls about the wonders of STEM.

Girl Scouts has shaped who I am, and as a delegate, I hope to continue giving back to the community that helped me grow while uplifting others along the way.

Shreeya K.

I have been an active Girl Scout since elementary school, and I recently submitted my Silver Award project, which aims to raise awareness of digital scams among seniors through workshops and discussions.

Outside of Girl Scouts, I have been a lead on a research project focused on robot communication for over 3 years, have given presentations at several conferences, and have published a couple of papers. Through that process, I have learnt how to give effective presentations and connect with team members to deliver a quality end project on time.

I have volunteered over 150 hours in both Girl Scouts and VT Seva (a non-profit for community service) this year alone, and I’m looking forward to organizing opportunities for girls to develop skills in their areas of interest.

My school is a lab school, meaning it experiments with finding the perfect balance between peer interaction and academic learning. Team projects and collaborative work are part of school life; the experience is truly unique and can be applied outside of school, which will be helpful for Girl Scouts. My school believes in community service, which is equally crucial to academics. This encouraged me to connect with several volunteer organizations, and I have learned to cold-email and cold-call the right people within any given organization.

I hope to bring a fresh perspective and serve as a representative of our service unit to the best of my ability!
