Brand Resources – Logos, Colors, Photos

Designed for volunteers, this is your go-to resource to find brand information, logos, photos, and templates.

A note on AI: AI-generated artwork is not allowed for council-run events and is strongly discouraged for troop and service unit materials. It doesn’t resonate with youth and families, and it gets brand details wrong. Using AI to brainstorm is fine, but never let it create or alter any Girl Scout brand element, including the logo, trefoil, uniforms, insignia, or fonts. Add those yourself from the official assets below, and keep all materials to GSUSA color standards. Better yet, use real photos of your troop in action (with photo permissions on file). Real girls doing real things always beat generated artwork!

Language

Our brand voice is encouraging, thoughtful, welcoming, lively. Our brand voice is not perfect, flashy, elite or rehearsed.

  • Focus on people. Highlight real Girl Scouts and those you’re speaking to, not the organization.
  • Use “Girl Scout” right. It’s singular as an adjective (e.g., Girl Scout Cookies).
  • Don’t say “empower.” Girls already have power—Girl Scouting helps them use it.
  • Show today’s impact. Talk about what Girl Scouts are doing now, not just future potential or past memories.
  • Show, don’t tell. Use real examples, keep it upbeat and inclusive, and speak like a human—not a brochure.

Colors

Girl Scout Green is our primary color and should be used prominently in external communications, especially when representing Girl Scouts as an organization. Forest Green and Star Green can be used as background colors or for emphasis.

Girl Scout Green

  • Hex: #00B451
  • RGB: 0/180/81
  • CMYK: 95/0/100/0

Forest Green

  • Hex: #005640
  • RGB: 0/86/64

Star Green

  • Hex: #D5F267
  • RGB: 0/180/81
  • CMYK: 15/0/70/0

Fonts

Girl Scouts, troops, and volunteers should use Palatino Linotype for headlines and emphasis, and Helvetica as subheader and body text.

Shapes

Our brand utilizes a variety of shapes when crafting compositions. Having this variety of shapes contributes to visual variety and compositional flexibility and range. Shapes available for download soon!

Photography

Our photography should always embody who girls are (expression) and what they do (environment). It’s important to show girls in both community settings and as unique individuals—while also capturing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all their forms, including age, race, ability, size, and geography. It’s also important to show girls with the parents and volunteers who help shape their experiences, while always ensuring the focus is still on the girl.
