Service Unit and Troop Managed Websites

While your local Girl Scout council (Girl Scouts Northern California) has its own website, some Service Units within our council’s jurisdiction choose to have websites of their own as well. If creating one, please adhere to these guidelines:

  • Link at the top in the header to our GSNorCal Council Site: https://www.gsnorcal.org/
  • Link at the top in the header to our GSNorCal Help Center: https://helpcenter.gsnorcal.org/
  • Adhere to the Girl Scout Color Scheme
  • Text mentioning that your webpage is NOT a council webpage and instead is volunteer run. Example Text: “This Website is independently created and maintained by Volunteers and/or local service units. It is NOT an official website of the Girl Scouts of Northern California or Girl Scouts of the USA.”
  • Include the GS Mission, Law, and Promise. Can be located here: https://www.gsnorcal.org/en/discover/about.html
  • The Logo / Service Mark can be used with permission from council. E-mail info@gsnorcal.org once your site is set up for review.
  • To use images of official insignia (including badges), e-mail trademarks@girlscouts.org
